Precaution is better than cure and the world needs to really understand this at this need of hour. The coronavirus pandemic is spreading like a wildfire all across the globe and have affected thousands of people across the world. As far as India are concerned, the situation is not that alarming but then again a little mistake could undo all the good work done so far.

At a time when no one has any clue on how to stop this menace, taking the right steps looks like the only sensible option and India cricket captain Virat Kohli has probably shown the way. The cricket superstar turned down a request for a selfie from a fan at the airport as he made sure not to come close to anyone in order to maintain the social distancing.

In a video that has surfaced online, Kohli can be seen walking straight, not paying any attention to the request from the female fan. While the location of the incident isn’t known, the India captain was probably travelling to Lucknow for the second ODI against South Africa last week or heading home after the series was called-off.

Here is the clip:

BCCI called-off the three-match series last week in the wake of the outbreak. The first encounter of the series in Dharamsala was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain and wet outfield. The BCCI then decided to hold the remaining two games behind closed doors as both the teams travelled to Lucknow.

But just hours after the players landed in Lucknow, the BCCI and its South African counterpart agreed to call-off the series. The boards also announced that a three-match series would be staged at a later date this year.

Coronavirus’ impact is being seen on almost every sporting event

Cricket is one of the worst-hit games due to the pandemic. Almost all the major international and domestic series have been called off in the last few days due to the outbreak. Last week, the BCCI suspended the IPL too till April 15. As of now, there is little clarity over the league would be held or not this year.

The likes of Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka have also called off their international fixtures. In addition, all the countries have also suspended their domestic games.
