Manish Pandey, the Indian middle-order batsman, recently tied the knots with actress Ashrita Shetty in Mumbai on Monday, December 2. It was following a day after he captained Karnataka to victory in the 2019-20 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. The actress made her debut on screen back in 2012 and has appeared in five movies thus far in her short career.

On the other hand, the start of Pandey’s career dates back to 2008, the very year when he was a part of the India U19 team under Virat Kohli’s leadership. In the SMAT Trophy, Pandey was one of Karnataka’s key performers. In the final against Tamil Nadu, Pandey put forth his A-game and led from the front. Pandey scored 60 runs off 45 balls and batted until the very end.

His knock helped Karnataka post a daunting 180 in the crunch game. In the last over of the match when Tamil Nadu needed 13 runs to win, Pandey pulled off a strong throw from the long on region. The brilliant piece of out-fielding resulted in the dismissal of Vijay Shankar, who could have run away with the match. In the end, Karnataka won the game by a slender margin of a run.

After a few hours, he got hitched and it was only an icing on the cake as far as Pandey was concerned. In the meantime, his former U19 mate Virat wished him for the happy moment. The current Indian skipper took to Twitter and wrote, “Congratulations Pandey ji. Wish you both a lifetime of beautiful moments and happiness. God bless you both @im_manishpandey.”

Virat set to play against the West Indies

Kohli is currently gearing up for the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, which is scheduled to get underway on December 6. The Delhi-born was on a break in the Bangladesh T20Is last month where Rohit Sharma took over as the skipper. Like Pandey, even Virat has had a lot to cheer about of late. Virat’s India are currently on top of the table in the ICC World Test Championship with 360 points from seven wins.
