Captain of the Indian Cricket Team Virat Kohli seems all but set to make his debut in the film industry. The star batsman is currently resting while India try to defend their Asia Cup title in the UAE. Kohli was in fine form during India’s lengthy tour of England earlier this year. He was particularly impressive during the Test series, amassing a total of 593 runs which earned him India’s Man of the Series award. Virat Kohli is likely to be back in the Indian Team setup for the Windies’ tour of India which is due to begin on October 4.

Since making his debut in international cricket, Virat has featured in countless advertisements on television. Moreover, he’s been lauded for his acting stints in commercials and has been closely associated with popular brands. Virat also shared the screen with his wife Anushka Sharma in a commercial of a wedding attire brand, just weeks before the two got married.

King Kohli tweeted out a poster of what seems to be an upcoming movie titled ‘Trailer: The Movie’, saying, “Another debut after 10 years, can’t wait!” Virat is likely to assume the role of a superhero in this film. The movie comes from Wrogn productions, a brand with which is synonymous with Virat Kohli. The poster has also revealed a release date – the 28th of September.

Interestingly, Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’, featuring Varun Dhawan releases on the same date as well. The film revolves around the couple setting out to establish a successful business of their own. It propagates the idea of ‘Make in India’, and has been produced by Maneesh Sharma from Yash Raj Films. Sharat Kataria is the director of this much-awaited film.

While Virat will not be on the cricket field, his team will face off against Bangladesh today in the Super 4. Bangladesh will be without their experienced opener Tamim Iqbal who fractured his left wrist during a group match against Sri Lanka. India will also take on arch-rivals Pakistan for a second time in this tournament before ending the Super 4 phase with a game against Afghanistan.
