Indian skipper Virat Kohli has reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal with the famous sports brand Puma. This also proves that the Indian skipper has not only taken on the mantle of skippership from his predecessor MS Dhoni but also his market value. This deal also sees Virat Kohli become the first Indian sportsman with such a massive endorsement to his name.

Puma has been in and around the cricketing platform in recent times given the fact that the others major sports brands have been in and around the space in recent times. The likes of Nike and Star are currently the vendors for the Indian cricket team at the moment with the likes of New Balance, Adidas, and perhaps even Puma to enter the market.

However, as far as the relationship between Kohi and the sporting brand is concerned, it is quite clear that there is certainly a very good relationship between the two. This relationship was spoken about by Kohli who was certainly pleased by the manner in which his endorsements are being taken care of. While Kohli uses an MRF branded bat at the moment, it is quite clear that that the sign could very well begin to read Puma in the near future. At the moment, Kohli is perhaps one of the most charismatic faces in the country as well.

“Both Puma and I are committed to a long-term partnership. I am impressed by the way Puma has gained popularity and market leadership in India in a short period of time,” he added. Puma is expected to work with Kohli in markets like UK, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East and “wherever Cricket is relevant.”
