In a heartwarming gesture, Team India skipper Virat Kohli has decided to donate all the profit from the sale of a new healthcare and sanitation product, Vize. The cricket superstar recently signed up with the product as its brand ambassador. Kohli is currently in Australia for the upcoming series against the hosts.

The entire squad left for Australia from Dubai last week after the conclusion of the IPL. The team is currently based in Sydney and has started preparing for the upcoming series. India are scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests Down Under this season. The upcoming series will be India’s first assignment since cricket was halted in March in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Kohli, however, won’t stay in Australia for the entire tour. He will lead the team in the ODIs, T20Is, and the first Test before heading home to be with his wife for the birth of their first child. Anushka Sharma is due to give birth in early January.

‘Glad to be a part of the initiative’

While the fans would definitely want Virat Kohli to keep winning hearts with his performances on the field, the India skipper has already won a lot of hearts with his kind gesture. He would donate all profit earned from Vize products to charity organisation Raah Foundation to help feed 10,000 underprivileged malnourished children in Maharashtra.

Kohli expressed his delight in being part of the noble initiative. The 32-year-old said that donating the profit is his ‘way of expressing solidarity with fellow Indians’. Every Vize product sold will help feed a malnourished child as Kohli has committed to donating all his earnings to the fight against malnutrition. A total of 10,000 malnourished children will be fed in Maharashtra through Virat Kohli Foundation’s CSR initiative.

“I’m glad to be a part of this initiative which aims to fight against malnutrition in India through my earnings from Vize,” Kohli is quoted as saying in the media release.

“As sportspersons, we athletes are recipients of much love and hero-worship. But in these difficult times, it is the Covid-19 warriors who are the true heroes who are putting their lives at risk to save the others. I feel excited to be associated with Vize because it is my way of expressing solidarity with fellow Indians,” he added.
