With an innings of a lifetime against England in the first Test at Edgbaston, Virat Kohli is being hailed as the best in the business right now by a lot of famous personalities in the fraternity. The latest to add to this list is former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who is awe of the Indian skipper’s undying hunger for scoring runs.
India were in deep trouble after losing five wickets in the first innings with the scoreboard not even touching three figures. They had to catch up with a 190-run deficit from that point and thanks to this genius named Kohli, who stroked a sensational 149, India managed to come very close to England’s first innings total.
As it turns out, the game is pretty much hanging in balance with the visitors needing 84 runs to win whilst the hosts need five wickets. The only positive for India is the 29-year-old’s presence in the middle, which is keeping every cricket fan glued to the television screens. Watching his brilliance, Misbah was obliged to post a congratulatory message.
His attitude compliments his batting style
As reported by journalist Saj Sadiq via his official Twitter handle, Misbah feels Kohli is a wonderful player and performs equally well in all three formats. He also complimented how the Indian captain blends his attitude into his batting style, which helps him tackle some adverse conditions with great courage.
“I feel Virat Kohli is a wonderful player and I don’t think there’s anyone who would argue with that. He performs equally well in all three formats of the game and his batting talent is complemented by his attitude and approach to the game which is second to none,” Misbah said.
He also hopes that a lot of records are in danger if the Delhi batsman keeps going this way. “He seems to enjoy his game and is a top batsman at the International level who has already achieved so much but rest assured, he will break some more records in the future too,” former Pakistan captain added.
