Virat Kohli is arguably one of the most iconic cricketing stars to have emerged out of India. The Delhi-born cricketer has achieved almost everything that a cricketer is expected to in the sport. From churning out centuries one after the other to mastering run chases. From innumerable batting records to awe-inspiring captaincy numbers, Kohli has accomplished it all in the last decade.

To say he has been India’s batting mainstay for several years now will be an understatement. The former Indian captain boast of statistics that will make any cricketer envious. He has scored over 10,000 ODI runs, close to 8000 Test runs, and 3296 runs in the T20I format playing for India. Thus, all the accolades that have come his way from past & present cricketers, fans, and experts over the years are justified with the batter deserving it all.

Kohli will be representing India for the 100th time in Test cricket. The fact that he will only be the 12th Indian to ever play 100 Tests reiterates the magnitude of this landmark game in his career.

There is a lot that has happened in Kohli’s cricketing journey in the recent few months. From resigning as India’s T20 captain post the 2021 T20 World Cup to then being sacked as India’s ODI captain in rather unceremonious circumstances and finally resigning from his Test captaincy position, the cricketer has surely had a turbulent year so far. There has also been a lot of chatter surrounding his inability to have scored an international century for over two years now. However, there could not be a better opportunity for the 33-year-old to put all records straight than coming out all guns blazing in his landmark Test.

Here is how the cricket fraternity reacted to Virat Kohli’s tremendous achievement
