The Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has been going through a tremendous phase in his career. Kohli has been scoring runs at will in the past. In the recently concluded Test series against South Africa, the Indian captain was the only centurion from both the teams. He blasted 3 centuries after that in the ODI series which India won 5-1.

However, the Indian captain is away from the field as he opted out of the T20 tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. India beat Bangladesh to enter the final of the tri-series. Even though the captain in all format Kohli is away from the cricketing action, he hasn’t managed to stay away from the media attention.

10 marks for writing an answer on Kohli

In an interesting event, the Indian captain became the talk of the town for the Kolkata students who were giving their standard X exams. The students got a pleasant surprise when they saw a question in their English exam where they were asked to write a short bio of Indian captain from the points provided in the question paper which was valued of 10 marks.

The students were surprised to see the name of their favorite player but they answered the same pretty happily.

The Indian captain has transformed himself completely in the past 3-4 years which he mentions everytime he has asked a question on those lines. According to Kohli, he changed his diet, his methods of preparing himself for the matches, ad the way he did the exercises.

Former Bengal player Laxmi Ratan Shukla who represented Indian in 2 ODIs felt that it was a great step by the authorities by adding a question about Kohli in the exam paper. He also hoped that such questions will keep coming in other board examinations as well. “Besides being an icon, Kohli’s life is about dedication, hard work, and discipline, which can be an example for students. I appreciate the gesture and I hope in future there will be questions on sporting icons not only in Madhyamik but other board examinations as well,” said the Trinamool Congress MLA.
