The cricketer lost a substantial chunk of his hair during his playing days. It is typical of men from the Indian sub-continent to loose hair as baldness is a commonly observed phenomenon. Sehwag tried his best to retain his look and underwent hair transplantation to recover it subsequently.
Fondly called “Viru”, the former Indian cricketer played 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is in an international career that spanned almost 14 years. He scored 8,586 runs in Tests; 8,273 runs in ODIs and 394 runs in T20Is besides taking 136 international wickets. He also scored 38 international hundreds. Post-retirement, Sehwag has donned many hats – including those of commentator, mentor, coach, consultant and analyst.
The man has also played in the Indian Premier League with a lot of authority towards the end of his playing career. Sehwag still remains the only Indian batsman to have scored two triple centuries in Tests.
