Kings XI Punjab director of Cricket Operation, Virender Sehwag, after becoming a Twitter sensation has also been endorsing a lot of brands and promoting them on social media as well. But today the former Indian opener tweeted to not announce his association but to clarify that he has no links with a beverage company that claimed he had endorsed the product.

The dashing opener is currently engaged in IPL for the Kings XI Punjab Side. The Delhi opener took to Twitter to clarify the doubts regarding his association with a packaged drinking water company named Xalta. Earlier, Patanjali Lucknow claimed by posting on their Facebook page that Sehwag owns the drinks company, after which Viru vehemently refused the claim.

“Xalta a company by Virender Sehwag. All cold drinks, juices, mineral water and soda available at our store.” said the company. Starting with mineral water, Xalta later ventured out into soft drinks, juices and soda. As soon as it came to his notice, Sehwag tweeted last night that the claims made by Patanjali Lucknow are absolutely false and he has no connection with the company.

“I have no association with Xalta Food and Beverage Private Limited, my name is being falsely used by the company” tweeted Sehwag

The Nawab of Najafgarh is currently busy with the regimes of the IPL. Kings XI Punjab is freshly off their win against the Delhi Daredevils. The Punjab side would want to win the upcoming matches such so as to remain in the contention of the playoffs.

They are currently in the fifth position in the IPL with 8 points and have an additional five matches to play. The team would be focussed on the coming matches and such distractions would be considered unnecessary for the head of the Punjab-based team.

Interestingly, Viru is one of the only few players to have represented a side both as player and head coach of the side. He joined the likes of Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Ricky Ponting, Daniel Vettori, Shaun Pollock and some others. He represented the Delhi Daredevils for a large chunk of his IPL career. After he was released, the Sultan of Multan was picked up by Preity Zinta’s side and has stuck with them post retirement as well.
