Virender Sehwag has been at his best on social media ever since he has retired from all the formats of the game. More often than not, he has managed to keep his fans and followers with his humorous and cheeky tweets while also congratulating Team India and the athletes for making the country proud. This time around Viru has trolled himself after one of his keen followers questioned Sehwag for his comments on the off-spinners.

Sehwag, the way he batted during his career, used to send shivers down the spine of the opposition bowlers. He used to love facing the spinners and has hit them for maximums numerous with the willow in hand. He doesn’ mince his words while off the pitch as well and had once said that he doesn’t believe that the off-spinners are bowlers. Interestingly, he had told the same to India’s best off-spinner Ravi Ashwin.

Ashwin revealed in a chat show

“Viru (Sehwag) said ‘You know what, I don’t think off-spinners are bowlers. They do not trouble me at all. I just find it easy smashing them’. I said ‘Sir you are cutting me’. He said, ‘Yeah, I hit off-spinners against the spin on the off side and for left-arm spinners, I will hit against the spin on the leg side,” Ashwin had revealed Sehwag’s comments in a chat show.

However, one of Virender Sehwag’s fans had an interesting question to India’s former opening batsman. He pointed out saying that Viru also used to roll his arm during his cricketing days and was himself an off-spinner. Sehwag has 96 and 40 wickets in his ODI and Test career respectively which is a decent record for a part-time bowler.

“@virendersehwag Sir ji… Aap bolte the ke aap spin bowlers ko bowlers nhi mante the…. Aap khud spin bowling karte the,” the fan’s tweet read.

In response, Sehwag, trolled himself hilariously saying that he never considered himself as a bowler as well which has left the fans on social media in splits. “Apne aap ko bilkul bowler nahi maanta tha, Anand (I never considered myself a bowler Anand),” Viru said in reply to a fan.
