Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag went on to wish Ross Taylor a speedy recovery as the New Zealand batsman seems to be suffering from a chronic eye condition. The duo were teammates for a while whilst playing for Indian Premier League franchise, the Delhi Daredevils before going their separate ways.

However, at the moment, Taylor finds himself as one of the senior-most batsmen of the New Zealand setup, especially given the fact that he is the most experienced campaigner when it comes to plying his trade with the bat.

However, despite the eye condition, Ross Taylor fought his way to an impressive century against Pakistan in the latest New Zealand v Pakistan encounter at Seddon Park in Hamilton. This came while Taylor was having issues with his sight and had also previously complained about irritation close to his eye as well.

New Zealand rode on Taylor’s heroics in the second innings of the match in Hamilton to help the Kiwis to complete a series win against the Pakistanis and also one match adrift of completing an impressive whitewash against the previously top-ranked Test team in the world. Taylor impressed with the bat as he remained unbeaten on 102 at the close of the second innings as the Kiwis managed to bowl out their opponents on the final day’s play at Seddon Park.

Virender Sehwag, who himself was forced to wear spectacles whilst batting, towards the end of his career has a stern sympathy for Taylor given the fact that the latter is going through his condition at the moment.

Virender Sehwag’s tweet read: “Aankhon me Teri azab si azab si adayeein hain. Get well soon Ross. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.” Even James Neesham, Taylor’s New Zealand teammate joined in on the troll after realizing what the condition was called.
