On the occasion of South Africa’s former legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis’ birthday, Sehwag once again didn’t hold back much and tweeted his wishes to one of the best cricketers to have ever played the game. He wrote, “Happy birthday @.jacqueskallis75 , one of the greatest ever cricketers to have graced the game. #JhakaasJacques“. Sehwag and Kallis have played against each other on many occasions in the international arena. Both also took part in the IPL for their respective franchises.

One of the greatest

Kallis who turned 42 today, has played 166 Test matches and scored 13289 runs at an average of 55.37. In 328 ODIs, the middle-order batsman piled up 11579 runs. With the ball in hand, Kallis has scalped 292 and 273 wickets in Tests and ODIs respectively.

One of the all-time greats, the Proteas match-winner has also fetched 12 wickets apart from scoring 666 runs in 25 T20Is. The former cricketer spends a lot of time playing golf now a days. He along with Mark Boucher, Kevin Pietersen, Shane Warne and Mark Nicholas will take part in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. “I can’t wait. It’s the best week of the year,” says Kallis. “The show that gets put on is truly special and those three courses (St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns) are phenomenal. The nerves are definitely there because it’s not my sport. But a safe three-iron off the first on the Old Course should settle things down a bit.” he added.
