Virender Sehwag's congratulatory wish for Parthiv Patel leaves Twitter guessing

Virender Sehwag, who has now assumed the full-fledged role of humorist on social media, continued with his habit of having fun on the occasion of Parthiv Patel crossing 10,000 first-class runs. Just a week back, the former India opener had named pacer Ishant Sharma ‘Burj Khalifa’ while wishing him on his birthday.

Parthiv achieved the feat in Duleep Trophy

The wicket-keeper batsman won plaudits for reaching 10,000 first-class runs during the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2017-18 contest between India Red and India Green, being played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, and among the well-wishers was Virender Sehwag.

Parthiv Patel achieved the feat during his first-innings score of 17 while captaining India Green. He made his Test debut during India’s tour of England in 2002 and went on to play a total of 23 Tests. The Gujarat wicket-keeper batsman missed several Tests as he was ignored for as many as 8 years before he earned a recall in the Test side in 2016 against England in Chennai. He fared decently but was subsequently dropped for regular wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha in the next Test.

Before this contest, the left-handed batsman had played a total of 169 First-Class matches, scoring 9,995 runs with 25 centuries and 26 fifties at 44.22. Also, last year, Parthiv guided Gujarat to their maiden Ranji Trophy title. He also remains an integral part of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

On Twitter, Parthiv had replied to a tweet, thanking Deep Dasgupta, another former India cricketer, for his good wishes on his achievement. Replying on the same thread, Sehwag wrote: “10,000 mubarak PP urf CC !”.  Now what exactly ‘CC’ here refers to is a question that can only be answered by Sehwag but Twitterati were quick to come up with their guesses. While some linked it to his small stature, some thought it stood for Chota Chetan.
