Essex will host Hampshire in the T20 Blast game on Thursday at the County Ground in Chelmsford. Both the teams are in a similar position as they won only one game thus far. Both sides had a one washed out game and two defeats after four matches. Hampshire’s win came in their recent most game against Somerset while Essex won their home fixture against Surrey.

Essex will finally able to utilize the services of Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir. The left-arm pacer, who announced his Test retirement recently, was awaiting for clearance of his sporting visa to represent Essex. However, the home side will take the field with a rather weaker batting line-up. Both Ravi Bopara and Varun Chopra have been dropped from the squad following their failures with the bat.
