People can go to any extent to make their weddings a memorable affair and one bride in Lahore, Pakistan, came up with the most unique idea by entering her mehndi programme inside a moving cake! A video of the unique event went viral on Twitter and it also did not evade the eyes of Shaniera Akram, the wife of former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram.
Shaniera, an Australian, got married with Wasim in 2013, four years after the death of the former cricketer’s first wife Huma, and has a daughter Aiyla who will turn four in December. Seeing the bride at the mehndi ceremony, Shaniera took to Twitter and asked her husband why he never told her this was a thing when they got married five years ago.
What the….? @wasimakramlive you never told me this was a thing when we got married!!! #LetsGetMarriedAgain #DesiStyle https://t.co/z8EVqz3pN5

Akram never allowed diabetes to beat his game
Akram was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 29 but the cricketer ensured that his glorious career did not get ruined because of the disease. Through strict discipline and mental will, he managed to win his battle against the deadly ailment to finish as one of the world’s best fast bowlers with over 900 international wickets in a career that lasted almost two decades. Today, Akram is often seen in campaigns against diabetes for his commendable resistance to it.
Twitterati was though not impressed with the video and reacted saying it was a waste of money and not something traditional. One even said that it was good that the former cricketer did not indulge in such “crazy-ness” when he married Shaniera. They also loved Akram’s witty reply and it was liked 7.7k times.
Akram recently spoke on a number of issues related to Pakistan cricket in an interview and revealed the name of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as his all-time favourite cricketer.
