Wasim Jaffer hilariously trolls a Sri Lankan fan who's jealous of IPL's success

The fan was not happy with the international schedule getting disturbed due to IPL.

Wasim Jaffer has been very active on social media these days. Interestingly, he communicates only with memes which leaves the fans in splits and it has created a separate fanbase as well. He worked as the batting coach of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) season and hilariously used to express his team’s efforts to make it to the playoffs through memes.

It was one of the best IPL seasons in terms of competition and almost all seven teams were fighting it out to make it to the top four until Match 47 or 48 in the league stage. But IPL took place this year in unprecedent times and it also proved to be a relief for a lot of people financially who struggled during the pandemic. However, it took a cancellation of the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup for the cash-rich league to go ahead.

Practically, it was impossible for the ICC to organise a world event behind closed doors and even the IPL was played without spectators. And the best T20 league in the world still managed to earn a lot through record viewership. But a Sri Lankan fan termed IPL as a controversy-hit league and felt that the mega events like T20 WC, Asia Cup and many other international series were cancelled only to create a window for the tournament.

Fan also accuses IPL to disturb 2021 schedule

The fan also accused the next edition of the IPL to disturb the international calendar in 2021. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the cash-rich league will take place in India in April-May next year. And the Sri Lankan fan reckons the World Test Championship has been disturbed due to IPL.

“T20 WC, Asia Cup & many Intl’s got scrapped to create window for the controversy-hit Indian domestic T20 league from Sep to Nov 2020. Again Intl’s will be halted for 2 months in 1st half of 2021 for same league. Halting World Test Championship during both occasions unacceptable,” the fan’s tweet read.

His tweet, in a way, seemed to be in bad taste and Wasim Jaffer brought his trolling abilities once again to the fore. He came across the tweet and trolled the fan with a hilarious meme yet again with, ‘Tell me again how you know everything’ written on it.
