Hardik Pandya’s career has been a joyride so far. The all-rounder was rewarded rightly with a place in the team after stellar performances in the domestic circuit. Pandya could not display his batting skills in the T20I series against Australia but did considerably well with the ball and earned praises for skipper MS Dhoni.

Today during the final T20I, the all-rounder from Baroda showed his fielding abilities and it was amazing. The incident happened in the 15th over when Travis Head was at strike facing Ravindra Jadeja. Head slogged a ball towards deep mid wicket. The ball looked to be easily travelling over the ropes but Pandya stunned everyone by stopping the ball at the boundary ropes. He dived as far as he could and leaped high to grab the ball with both the hands. The momentum was taking him down and he managed to throw the ball inside the ropes just in time before landing his foot on the other side of the rope.  It was a great example of athleticism and presence of mind while at work.

Fielding wise that over was a fantastic one for him as created a near run-out chance off the first ball before this remarkable effort. Pandya strong throw from the boundary ropes had nearly caught Shane Watson short of the crease had it hit the stumps. Watson was struggling to complete the second run which he tried after Pandya misfielded at deep cover. However, the all-rounder was quick and fired a throw at the wicket keepers end. The ball narrowly missed the stumps. Dhoni did try deflecting the ball at the stumps but was unsuccessful.
