The Indian Women’s team is toiling hard to qualify for the next edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup. They have been doing decently well at the ongoing ICC World Cup qualifiers till now. In the encounter against Thailand Women’s team, the Indian team absolutely routed the opposition. One moment that struck the chords of all fans was when Mansi Joshi cleaned up Thailand skipper Sornnarin Tippoch.

The young Indian pacer was running in well when she managed to dismantle the wood work of the Thai skipper. The action perspired in the 8th over of the match. Mansi Joshi bowled a length delivery that pitched outside off as Tippoch took strike. Tippoch assumed that the ball would head straight to the wicketkeeper. She left the ball alone.

The ball made a sharp turn into the southpaw and had the off stump go for a tizzle. It was the second delivery that the Thailand skipper faced and needless to say, she was absolutely shocked by a gem of a delivery by Joshi. In the match, Thailand Women had won the toss and opted to bat first.

Shikha Pandey got rid of opener Nattakan Chantam cheaply and Mansi Joshi came into action soon as she got rid of the other opener too. The Thailand side was in a spot of bother when they were reeling on 20/6 at the halfway stage. Only two players managed to get into the double digits as Indian bowlers made little work of the Thailand batters. They were bundled out for a paltry 55 in 29.1 overs. Mansi was the pick of the bowlers as she scalped 3 wickets and finished with figures of 5-4-4-3.

Indian Women, in their reply, were off to a good start with Harmanpreet Kaur and Thirush Kamini adding 32 for the opening stand. Kaur departed to bring Veda Krishnamurthy to the crease. Three fours from her saw India Women chase down the target in 12.4 overs. India Women won by 9 wickets.
