It seems England cricketers and their embarrassing counters with the ball boys isn’t coming to an end. After all-rounder Ben Stokes received a throw from a ball boy right on his face, that looked like a tremor to the jaws, during one of the ODI games, it was time for Jason Roy to crash into a ball boy.

The incident took place during the 1st T20I match between India and England at Kanpur, when Virat Kohli scooped one over the in-field during the Indian innings, as Roy was seen chasing the ball. Apparently, one of the ball boys, who was walking past the sidelines, didn’t expect Roy to come at him sliding hard and failed to stay out of his way.

A minor collision took place between the two, and luckily, both of them escaped unhurt. Stoke, who was quite near to Roy had a giggle about the incident and both the players went back to join the action before Roy offered a hand to the ball boy.

India posted a total of 147 on the board. At one stage, the hosts looked set to go past 160, but spinner Moeen Ali and rest of the pacers brought the visiting team back in the hunt with quick wickets. MS Dhoni top-scored for India with a 27-ball 36, while Suresh Raina looked in good touch, stroking a 23-ball 34.

Chasing 148 to win, England were on song, getting to 42 in the 4th over before losing both the openers (Jason Roy and Sam Billings) to Yuzvendra Chahal in the same over. An unbeaten 46 off 46 balls from Joe Root and a fine captain’s knock from Eoin Morgan (51 off 38 balls) ensured a 7-wicket win and a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series.

Ali received the man of the match award for his vital figures of 2/21 in 4 overs. Both the teams will head to Nagpur for the 2nd T20I on 29th January before wrapping up the fixture in Bangalore on 1st February.
