Darren Sammy‘s St. Lucia Zouks was playing St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots led by Marlon Samuels in the 4th T20 match of the Caribbean Premier league (CPL). St Kitts and Nevis Patriots had won the toss and put up a target of 150 to chase for the St. Lucia Zouks.

The Zouks were in great command of the match as Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Charles were going strong. But, Dutta had one more reason to cheer. KP was batting in full mood. Dutta came in to bowl the 13th over and it was Pietersen who was at the other end.

He managed to curb Pietersen from scoring for the first three balls. He hit the next delivery for a beautiful wristy boundary over the covers. It was a full delivery which met its consequences. However, the young offie from Canada got a perfect revenge, that too, off the very next delivery.

Dutta bowled an off-cutter just outside the off stump line. Kevin Pietersen completely fails to pick it and is induced to pay a false drive. The ball beats him with the spin and crashed onto the stumps. It was a sweet revenge from the Canadian. The big fish was gone and Dutta was pumped up with joy. This wicket must have skyrocketed the confidence of the newbie.

Nikhil Dutta had already taken his maiden wicket. He broke the opening partnership by dismissing opener Andrew Fletcher. He finished the match with the figures of 2/32, but his effort ended up in a losing cause as the Zouks won the match by seven wickets.
