The Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner and the Gujarat Lions pacer Praveen Kumar were involved in a heated altercation during the Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2016 last night.

Warner, who is known to be one of the top sledgers in world cricket, surprisingly did not react this time around. This was perhaps due to the fact that he knew he had the game in control. On the other hand, Kumar, couldn’t control his temper and was seen hot red during the altercation.

It was in the 17th over of the match, when Bipul Sharma carved a huge maximum to ease out the pressure on the Sunrisers. Praveen Kumar then bowled a delivery right in the blockhole to Warner, and the Aussie somehow managed to drill it back to the bowler and saved his wooden work. PK didn’t look too impressed and was perhaps in no mood to tolerate the batsman.

He gestured to throw the ball back at the batsman, and Warner smiled back at him and invited the bowler to go ahead with the throw. This didn’t get down too well and the bowler charged at him and kept saying just one word, ‘What’ to the Australian opener. Warner, in response, seemed in a merry mood and kept smiling. However, things started to look dark and the on-field umpire Marais Erasmus had to intervene and separate the two players.

Gujarat Lions wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik came in to separate the two players as well and took Praveen back to his run up, trying to calm him down at the crunch moment of the game.

At the end, it was David Warner, who had the last laugh as he hit 5 runs of the 19th over, again bowled by Kumar, to seal the finals berth for his team and remained unbeaten on a masterly 93. PK is sure to be reprimanded for his actions.
