In a recent conversation for the Mumbai Indians television channel (MITV), Rohit Sharma spoke at length about how important is the psychological aspect of the game of cricket. He noted that the team focused a lot on the mental aspect of the game prior to the commencement of the season. Once the players are strong in this regard, they can come up with improved performances.

“At the start of the season, we focused a lot on the mental aspect of the game because we wanted to be very strong in that area,” quoted Rohit Sharma.

He further added that as the captain of the team, he feels it is his responsibility to help the side move in the right direction in the tournament and in the mental aspect of the game. “As a captain I would like the guys to remain focused and move in the right direction,” he quoted.

The Mumbai Indians will next lock horns with the Delhi Daredevils at Delhi in their next encounter. A win in the match will guarantee them a place in the playoffs. Rohit credited how the Delhi team has managed to dominate the oppositions in the last couple of matches.

“Looking at how Delhi Daredevils have played the last two games, they look like a complete unit now. Let us see what Delhi has got for us,” quipped the MI skipper.
