Coming back to match, Australia after winning the toss opted to bat first and managed to score 251/3 at the end of Day 1. Openers Usman Khawaja and David Warner provided a good start for the visitors, stitching a partnership of 82 runs before the latter got out on a score of 36 runs. Australia suffered another blow in form of Marnus Labuschagne as the batter was caught short of his crease by a rocket throw from Sajid Khan.
However, Khawaja and Smith combined to help Australia recover and regain control of the match. After Smith got out, the visitors sent Nathan Lyon in the form of a nightwatchman. The visitors have had a solid start on Day 2 with Khawaja playing at a score of 141 runs and Lyon batting on 37.
Australia are currently 304/3 in 104.5 and will now look to score quick runs to post a hefty first-innings score. Meanwhile, Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf took a wicket each for Pakistan. Both sides will be aiming to win this Test after the first game ended in a draw.
