Ace Indian batsmen came up with an awareness video on social media recently. He aimed at requesting people to help reduce pollution levels in Delhi. The capital city of India has been under the scanner in the recent times for its high rate of pollution. Such precarious is the situation that the smoke has led to the cancellation of sports events. The Ranji Trophy matches that were scheduled to be played in Delhi have been called off. Delhi is now mocked as the smog capital of India.

Virat Kohli was quick to request his fellow Delhiites to take action on the same. In a video that he posted on his official social media handles, Kohli talked about how the rising pollution levels is an alarm call for all. He cited at the harmful effects that this could have on the future generations. Kohli posted the video with a caption reading, “Please be more aware. The future depends on how we act now. It’s heartbreaking to see the pollution levels rise so high.”

The video starts with Virat Kohli admitting that he has been wanting to record this video for quite some time now. Kohli then points out the various implications of the high pollution levels in the city. He says, “I have been wanting to record this video for a while. The pollution levels in Delhi are horrible at the moment. The schools are getting closed. Sports events are getting called off, few cricket games have been called off.”

He further warns that if the people don’t take an action right now, then there could be massive problems in the future. It will be the future generations who will suffer because of us. “If we don’t act, there is going to be massive problems in the future. The kids are going to suffer from diseases. So look after your family members, look after your children whose future depend on how we look after the current situation,” says Kohli.
