Watch: Virat Kohli gives away his award to fans after last league game of IPL 10

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have had a disappointing season in the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. They managed to win only 3 matches in the season and that reflects the kind of hardships and criticism they had to endure in the last couple of months. Their skipper, Virat Kohli, did not have the best of times in the tournament either.

Coming into the tournament, Kohli was expected to call the shots like he did last year. Some of the Kohli superlatives had seen RCB cruise through to the finals in the previous edition of the tournament. However, this year, neither did Virat Kohli replicate his heroics from the past, nor did his team respond in fine fashion. As a result, they found themselves at the bottom of the points table.

However, it analyzed at length, Kohli was the solitary bright spot for the lackluster RCB batting lineup. In the 10 matches that he played, he scored 308 runs at an average just over 30 with 4 fifties to his name. He was only unfortunate to see half of those efforts come in a losing cause.

The fans were unhappy after the results and Virat Kohli, too, was disappointed for having underperformed this season. The gesture that he did after the final league game of the season is surely going to melt the hearts of the cricket fans. Kohli top scored in the fixture against the Delhi Daredevils at the Feroze Shah Kotla for his side. He scored 58 off just 45 balls to help RCB post 161/6 in the game. RCB eventually won the match by 10 runs on the day.

In the post-match presentations, he was given the FBB Stylish Player of the Match award for his efforts with the bat. Perhaps a consolation prize in its own might, the award certainly did mean something to the RCB skipper. Virat Kohli was soon seen running towards the stands, jumping over the advertising hoardings, and giving away his award to the fans.
