Rajasthan Royals skipper, Shane Watson is in elegant form these days. After his brilliant performance against Kolkata Knight Riders, he has again proved his form by yet another fantastic performance. He has claimed the second Hat Trick of IPL 2014 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday in Ahmedabad. He dismissed three Hyderabadi batsmen on a trot. This was the eight instance of the Hat Trick in IPL after his Rajasthani counterpart Pravin Tambe achieved the feat against Kolkata Knight Riders. Watson’s effort gradually went in vain as his team finally lost by 32 runs.
This is the 2nd Hat Trick in 2 games for Rajasthan Royals, both at Motera. Watson’s Hat Trick was technically a split Hat Trick as he did not take all three wickets in a one go. He first dismissed Shikhar Dhawan for 33 on the last ball of his first over. He then returned to bowl the 17th over and picked two wickets in the first two balls dismissing Moises Henriques on 9 and Karan Sharma on duck, thus completing his haul.
Watson provided the crucial breakthrough for Rajasthan Royals dismissing Shikhar Dhawan when he was hitting the ball sweetly. Watson ended up the bowling figures of 2-0-13-3. His counterpart Rajat Bhatia also bowled beautifully, never letting Sunrisers Hyderabad to gain momentum. Sunrisers managed to put 134/9 on the scorecard.
Even with good bowling performance, Rajasthan failed to consolidate a good run chase and bared a 32 runs defeat against SRH.
In fact Rajasthan Royals is the only team to have a record of three hat tricks in IPL which includes Ajit Chandila’s in IPL 2012, Pravin Tambe’s and Shane Watson’s hat trick in IPL 2014.Watson and Tambe also showed some blistering performance against KKR, thus forming a streaked supremacy of victory.
Seems like Royal’s bowling performance is definitely improving game by game. Who knows we can see another Hat trick from another Rajasthani in this IPL. Let’s hope for the best of their team and making emendations of their previous performances in IPL since 2009.
