West Indies cricketers take their dance moves very seriously. They can break into an impromptu jig whenever the opportunity comes. Be it the senior team or the junior team, they simply never cease to entertain the crowd.

One such wonderful moment came after the second semi-final of the ICC U19 World Cup between West Indies and hosts Bangladesh came to an end. West Indies had shocked Pakistan to clash with the Bangladeshis for the spot in the final and then successfully beat them to move to the final.

Shamar Springer, who listens to motivation speeches before every match, played a crucial role in West Indies victory, hitting an unbeaten 88-ball 62 to take his team to the final of the tournament for the first time since 2004. The joy was palpable and was expressed it like anyone else from the Caribbean would have done. Springer, who is called as ‘ ball-beater’ by his teammates, pulled out one of his signature steps that he calls as “chest roll.”

West Indies were still 109 runs away from their target of 227 when he took the strike at the fall of the third wicket in the 20th over. Soon, it became 147 for 4, Springer himself finding it hard to rotate the strike. The situation was getting tough for him but he broke the shackles soon and took his past the victory line to mark a date with India in the finals on Valentines Day.

Ahead of the important clash against the strong Indian side, the senior team had a special way of motivating their junior guys. Darren Sammy, Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo imitated the ‘Springer Dance’ to boost the confidence of the boys.
