Pakistan’s highest run scorer in Test cricket, Younis Khan is one of the country’s greatest ever. Younis responds best in adversity and has been his side’s batting mainstay since several years. Known for relishing challenges, Younis is seen here taking up a unique one in a studio. On a show called Sitaray ki Subha, hosted by the popular Pakistani TV presenter Shaista Lodhi, the star batsman takes it upon himself to make tea and roast parathas- a flat-bread that originated in the north of the Indian subcontinent.

Younis shares that he loves cooking and on international cricket tours often enjoys staying in studio apartments since he can cook for himself. He reveals that eating paratha’s is the secret of his fitness. Younis heads the list of the oldest batsmen to have reached 9000 Test runs.

A loyal servant of Pakistan cricket, he is also an excellent fielder who sets standards for himself. At the age of 38 years when most cricketers would have either retired or contemplating retirement, he has kept himself in a great shape that allows him to perform at his best in the longest and the most challenging format of the game. He has been playing match-winning innings for Pakistan and is the team’s most accomplished batsman.

Younis mentions on a lighter note that eating two parathas in the morning and nothing thereafter keeps him fit. He also makes tea and is seen having a great time in the studio kitchen. His passion about cooking is evident from the conversation he has while cooking. Sitaray Ki Subha is a morning show that features live calls, text messages and a platform where people can talk to their favourite celebrities.
