'We appreciate it, thank you so much'- Chris Gayle thanks PM Modi for donating COVID-19 vaccines to Jamaica

India has started its fight against the deadly coronavirus by successfully producing vaccines. Led by the robust Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, the country has vaccinated 3.6 Crore people already in its bid to overcome Covid-19.
And, under the Vaccine Maitri initiative, India has been supplying vaccines to several countries across the world. India had also sent 50,000 Covid vaccines to Jamaica as part of the scheme.
And now, West Indian cricketing legend Chris Gayle has thanked the Indian Prime Minister for the noble gesture. Adding that the whole of Jamaica appreciates the kind act of the Indian Prime Minister, Gayle stated that he will be coming to India soon.
“Honorable Prime Minister Modi, people of India, and Government of India, I want to thank you for the donation of vaccine to Jamaica. We appreciate it, thank you so much. India I will be seeing you soon and thanks once again,” said Gayle in a video. You can watch Gayle thanking the Indian Prime Minister below.

Other West Indian cricketers other than Chris Gayle also thanked India for the gesture
Earlier, big-hitting West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell had also thanked Modi for the gesture. Russell stated that he wanted to say a ‘big thank you’ to Modi as well as the Indian High Commission and added that he loves to see the world come back to normalcy. He concluded by stating that the people of India and Jamaica are now like brothers. You can see Russell thanking the Indian PM in the video below.

In fact, apart from Gayle and Russell, several other West Indian cricketing stalwarts had also thanked Modi for donating vaccines. The likes of Richie Richardson, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Jimmy Adams, and the legendary Sir Vivian Richards had thanked Modi for the donation of the vaccines.
Coming back to Gayle, the Jamaican is one of the greatest batsmen to have ever wielded the willow for the West Indies. The batting legend is the highest run-scorer for the West Indies in the ODI format and has amassed 10480 runs in ODIs at an average of 37.7. In T20I cricket, the left-hander has scored 1656 runs for his country and has scored them at a strike rate of 140.82.
