We definitely have a team which can win the IPL for MS Dhoni: Suresh Raina

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) marked an absolutely sensational and remarkable return into the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The two-time title holders finished on the second spot after the league stages and then recorded a spectacular victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Qualifier 1 to advance through to the finale match.

The MS Dhoni-led side will now be facing the winners of the Qualifier 2, which will be contested later in the day between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Sunrisers. CSK veteran batsman Suresh Raina revealed in a conversation that the team wants to lift the trophy this time especially for their skipper.

This is the seventh time when the CSK team under the leadership of Dhoni has reached the final of the tournament. Suresh Raina praised the CSK skipper for his contributions over the years in leading the team both with his captaincy and finishing matches on numerous occasions. He revealed that Dhoni was quite emotional after his team qualified for the final this time.

“He got quite emotional (when the team reached the final this time). He cares so much for Chennai; we all do. He has been amazing for CSK since 2008 and is one of the nicest guys around. So this time, we want to win the IPL for Dhoni,” said Raina as quoted by the CSK website.

The left-handed batsman revealed that MS Dhoni knows the best way to answer his critics is by proving them wrong with his performance on the field. Raina noted that the current CSK unit looks a pretty strong and competitive side and can the trophy for Dhoni this time.

“He gets criticized so often and every time (he) answers his critics back through his performance. Sometimes you need to see it from an emotional side as well. We definitely have a team which can win it for MS this time. You need to do something (special) every time he turns up and that is the reason we want to win the IPL for Dhoni,” further added the veteran CSK batsman.
