Punjab Kings (PBKS) are up against the wooden-spooners of the previous season, Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the fourth match of the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first, the Punjab Kings’ batsmen went berserk as they absolutely dominated the opposition bowlers.
While both Punjab and Rajasthan are entertaining the viewers with their blistering performance with the willow, social media is also on a roll with the netizens, especially the cricket enthusiasts enjoying all the memes regarding the ongoing game. India’s ace leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, who is known for his goofiness and humor, is quite active on social media during all the IPL matches.
The leg-spinner took to his official Twitter handle to take a sly dig at the Punjab Kings for their new jersey which resembles RCB’s old one. Ahead of IPL 2021, the Punjab-based franchise changed its name from Kings XI Punjab to Punjab Kings. The management also introduced a new logo and jerseys for the team in a bid to change their fortune too.
However, ever since PBKS have unveiled their new cricket kit, they have been accused of drawing inspiration from RCB’s jersey, which was donned by the players during the early years of the IPL. Chahal pointed out the same in a hilarious manner as he shared a snap of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle from the ongoing game on his Twitter while welcoming the duo to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Notably, both Gayle and Rahul played for RCB at some point in time. “Welcome to @RCBTweets boys @henrygayle @klrahul11” Chahal tweeted.

KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda produce a batting masterclass
It was raining fours and sixes at the Wankhede as the Punjab Kings produced a scintillating show while batting and took the opposition bowlers for cleaners throughout the game. The skipper KL Rahul was in blistering form as he hit seven boundaries and five maximums. However, the batsman fell short of nine runs for his first century in IPL 2021 as he departed back to the pavilion after scoring 91 runs.
Meanwhile, it was the all-rounder Deepak Hooda who stole all the limelight with his power-hitting. Coming to bat at number four, Hooda played a scintillating knock of 64 runs off just 28 deliveries to drive Punjab towards a mammoth total of 221 runs.
