Indian Premier League is aired in almost every part of the world and is a worldwide phenomenon. However, there is something which is bigger than the Indian Premier League and it is the English Premier League. The football league which runs for over 10 months of a year is one of the best leagues in the world as well.

We cannot compare both the leagues as Cricket and Football are two very different sports but we can surely compare its magnitude. Indian Premier League had its opening day for the 10th time and it saw a repeat of the final of 2016. Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Hyderabad won quite easily by 35 runs and RCB were rather tame in their attempt to get the first points on the board. The match saw a house full of banners for Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers and Yuvraj Singh but two of them stood out of the rest. Those banners said, “Wenger Out”, if you are wondering who this Wenger is, then Arsene Wenger is the manager of the Arsenal Football Club which plays in the English Premier League in England. It is one of the best clubs in England and Wenger has been their coach since 1996.

However, his team lost their form during February as they were beaten 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich and had managed only four points out of possible eighteen in the league. They had managed to beat two non-league sides and lost most of the games during the course of February and March. This left Arsene Wenger and Arsenal on the 6th position in the table which sparked many protests among the fans.

The protests were against the Arsenal coach which has led to a saga called “Wenger Out”. The banners at the game of cricket in India suggests how deep the protest has gone.
