West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell planning to explore acting in Bollywood

Although West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell isn’t featuring in the ongoing season of the IPL, he might well go on to hobnob with Bollywood stars soon. That’s right, the 28-year-old Jamaican is exploring a career in the world of entertainment, and Bollywood seems to be the perfect platform for him.

The Indian Premier League and Bollywood had joined hands from the inaugural season of the tournament back in 2008. Now, we have a cricketer of the IPL looking to make the jump into India’s film industry.

Russell is already following fellow West Indian Dwayne Bravo’s footsteps and is all set to launch an international music album. Earlier DJ Bravo had taken the internet as well the cricket field by storm with his number ‘Champion’. He also came out with ‘Jaegerbomb’ and ‘Trip Abhi Baki Hai’.

“Yes it is true that I’m exploring a career in the performing arts. I will be launching my first international music video with main focus in India this year and then maybe explore acting in Bollywood films,” Russell shared.

Andre Russell will be launching his music later this year. His album has been produced by Gemini Musiq based in Los Angeles, the production house behind Grammy-winning singer Justin Bieber’s recent album ‘Sorry’.

The West Indian received some tips from Indian actress Mallika Sherawat while the two met in San Antonio, Texas. If things go well for the all-rounder, the duo might go on to feature in one of his later projects.

Venus Entertainment Group declared that it will be taking care of Russell’s branding and management globally.

Apart from entertaining spectators with his big-hitting skills, Andre Russell is all set to get his fans grooving to his beats as well. With a prospective career in Bollywood, Russell might well be seen performing at an IPL opening ceremony, perhaps in 2021! He might even be seen sitting beside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the stands and cheering for his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders.
