Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide at his home in Bandra on Sunday. The police confirmed the shocking news and soon social media was filled with the condolences for the actor. Everyone was left stunned after knowing about the news and even the Indian cricketers were shocked as they expressed solidarity towards Sushant’s family.
Sushant’s connection to cricket was MS Dhoni. He had superbly enacted the former Indian skipper in the latter’s biopic which was released in September 2016. Sushant had garnered a lot of praise from the man himself and many others in the industry for his acting skills in the movie.
Apart from that, he acted in the movies like Kai Po Che, which was also his Bollywood debut. His last on-screen movie was Chichhore which was co-incidentally based on youngsters committing suicide after not living up to the expectations.
As far as the news of his suicide is concerned, it has been reported that he was found hanging in his house. He was also reportedly living alone during the lockdown. Moreover, his ex-Manager Disha Salian also breathed her last on June 10 after allegedly falling down from the 14th floor of her friend’s home in Mumbai.
Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan among many Indian cricketers react
Twitter was filled with the messages for Sushant Singh Rajput soon after the news of his passing away started making rounds. The former and current cricketers like Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Aakash Chopra, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh among many were left stunned. Most of the players were closely associated with the actor during the shoot of the MS Dhoni’s biopic and Raina also stated the same in his tweet.
He recalled about meeting the actor several times during the movie and also said that we have lost a handsome and ever-smiling person. “Shocked to hear about Sushant Singh Rajput. Met him several times as he spent time with us for Mahi’s biopic. We’ve lost a handsome, ever-smiling actor. Om Shanti!” his tweet read.
Among others, Irfan Pathan also remembered his last meeting with the 34-year-old actor and had praised him for his work in Kedarnath movie. Sushant, had then, urged Irfan to watch his Chichhore film which also did extremely well at the Box Office.
Here are the tweets:
