The opening batsman of the Indian Test team Murali Vijay has cleared that he shares a good rapport with the other two openers off the field. Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are the opening batsman who is battling for a place in the side with Vijay who slammed a century on his comeback to the side in the second Test against Sri Lanka. However, Vijay revealed that all of them are ready whatever the team management asks them to do.

Virat Kohli led Indian side trounced Sri Lanka last week by an innings and 239 which equalled their biggest victory ever in the format. The match was a fruitful one for the skipper himself along with Cheteshwar Pujara, Vijay and Rohit Sharma. But KL Rahul failed to cash in on his opportunity and Dhawan missed out on his chance as he was unavailable for the game citing personal reasons.

Green Delhi pitch awaits the teams

Virat Kohli had already cleared that they were preparing for the tour of South Africa during the ongoing series against Sri Lanka itself. Accordingly, Kolkata and Nagpur pitches had a tinge of green on it. Now the third Test will be played in Delhi at Ferozshah Kotla Stadium and the wicket also seems to be green ahead of the game on Saturday. Murali Vijay also spoke about his chemistry with Rahul and Dhawan on the eve of the third and final Test match of the series.

“Actually, we three are very good friends off the pitch and it makes things much more easier for us. We three have a good rapport off the field and it will help us in the future. We three are in good form as well,” he told reporters when asked about the happy problem India possess at the top of the batting line-up. The 33-year-old also said that they are ready to whatever it takes for the good of the team and they are looking to contribute in any which way possible.

“I don’t know about it. Whatever the team management does, we are all equipped and we are all looking to contribute. I don’t know how they are are going to play around with the team. It is absolutely their choice and we are all ready to do it for the team,” Vijay concluded.
