'When we had the wall, we had it all'- Virender Sehwag's wishes on Rahul Dravid's 48th birthday are winning hearts

Legendary former India batsman and deemed as one of best gentlemen of the cricket game Rahul Dravid is celebrating his 48th birthday. He stepped down the world of international cricket long back but still continues to be one of the most respected figures of Indian cricket. His aura is considered as a complete school of batting in the realm of Indian cricket. And, on his big day, wishes poured in from all the corners of the world.

Though a lot of cricketers came up to wish ‘the wall’ of Indian cricket, it was Virender Sehwag who stole all the limelight with his witty statements on Dravid’s birthday. He took to his Twitter and added a collage wherein one frame had Dravid’s pic while the other showed the picture of both Dravid and Sehwag on the beachside.

“Kehte hain Deewaaron ke bhi kaan hote hain. Yeh deewar ke kaan toh hain hi jo sabko achhe se sunte hain, balki bahut saaf hriday aur mann bhi hai. When we had the Wall, we had it All. #HappyBirthdayRahulDravid, wish you fulfillment in all that you do,” Sehwag tweeted.

In the same line, another Indian great VVS Laxman also poured his wished and added- “Warm birthday wishes to a special friend with whom I shared a lot of wonderful memories and who continues to inspire us, Wishing you a very special birthday and a wonderful year ahead Rahul.”

The former skipper of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, is currently the Director of Cricket Operations and National Cricket Academy, Bangalore. He is also in control of India-A and India U-19 teams and monitors their progress. It was during his coaching when India turned up to be the runners up at the 2016 U-19 WC and clinched the trophy during the 2018 U-19 WC.

Known for his class batting technique and skills, he scored around 25,000 runs in international cricket. He was regarded as one of the greatest figures of Indian cricket during his times, and fellow fans termed him ‘Mr dependable’ or ‘The wall of the Indian cricket.’
