Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in the last-ball thriller at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday (April 27). The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is well and truly alive thanks to some excellent thrillers going on in the tournament. Fans tend to lose their cool after their favorite team losses such close games but a support staff member rarely does it during the match and when it turns out to be Muttiah Muralitharan, it is very very rare.

The Sri Lankan legend was not at all happy with Marco Jansen in the last over of the game. The latter was handed over the responsibility to defend 22 runs and more often than not, the bowling side is expected to come up trumps in these situations. However, when the players like Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan are in the middle, literally anything can happen.

Jansen couldn’t handle the extreme pressure of delivering in the last over and kept dishing out full-length deliveries which irked Muttiah Muralitharan. It happened after the penultimate ball went for a maximum. Jansen had tried to go wide of Rashid who got under the ball to convert it into a full toss and smacked a brilliant six. Murali was livid with the length from the bowler and stood up in the dugout to say, ‘Why the hell is he bowling full?’ The video of the same has gone viral on social media as not many had seen the legendary cricketer lose his cool.

Here’s the video:

Rashid takes GT home off the final ball

Well, if SRH players and support staff were losing the plot, Rashid Khan was cool as a cucumber in the middle. Marco Jansen was clearly under pressure to deliver a good final ball and the Afghanistan batter perfectly read his mind. The bowler went short on the leg-side and the whack from Rashid on the shorter side of the ground meant the ball was always going to go over the ropes despite the fielder being placed at fine leg for the celebrations to unfurl in the Titans’ camp.
