West Indies take on New Zealand in the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series in North Sound, Antigua, on October 1, Saturday. West Indies registered a thrilling 1-run win in the first match, defending a meagre target of 116, thanks to a top-class bowling performance by pacer Chenille Henry.

The initial damage was done by Amelia Kerr in the first innings with a spell of three for 16 in four overs. Aaliyah Alleyne, on a challenging wicket, played a valuable hand with the knock of 49 off 37 despite the hosts getting bowled out for 115. New Zealand, in the second innings, never got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals with none of the batters, barring Hannah Rowe, who scored 27.

Rowe also almost pulled off a miraculous chase in the last over, whe they needed 20 off six. West Indies will look to carry on the momentum, winning two wins on the spin against the Kiwis across formats.

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium provides an even contest between bat and ball. It can get harder to bat on in the second innings with the surface getting slower and offering more turn. Out of the 14 T20Is that the venue has hosted, teams batting first won ten times, while the teams chasing won it four times. It was also shown in the fiest T20I that the going gets tougher in the second innings.
