England will be touring West Indies for three Tests, 5 One-Day Internationals and three T20Is next year in January. The itinerary of the same was announced by the Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Friday. The tour will begin for the Three Lions with the Test series but what will be most important for both the teams would be the tussle in the 50-overs format with the World Cup only five months away.

The first Test between England and Windies will be played from January 23 at the Kensington Oval after which the Antigua and St Lucia will host the remaining two games. The second and third Test matches will be played on January 31 and February 9 respectively. Last time these two teams met in the whites was in England and the Caribbean side played well to take the series to the decider.

When is the ODI series?

The most important five-match ODI series will begin on February 20 with the first couple of match to be played in Barbados which is also the venue for the Test series opener. The action will then shift to Grenada where the third and fourth match of the contest will take place on February 25 and 27 while the series will conclude at Darren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia after three days.

The three T20 Internationals won’t hold much significance at that time but it is the favourite format of the Windies who are the champions in it. The three games will be played on March 5,8 and 10 respectively with St Kitts hosting the last two matches of the tour.

This tour will give England a fine chance to judge themselves as far as the ODIs is concerned. Even the hosts Windies will have a great chance to fine-tune their skills ahead of the mega-event and make sure that they come up with a decent combination. It is unlikely that any other series will be played post this tour with the Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled late in March.
