The stage is all set for the Indian captain Virat Kohli to break a few records against Windies in the two-match Test series, beginning in Antigua this Thursday. Kohli is a master of breaking records and setting his own and it will not be any different in the Test series against Caribbeans.

In the first Test against Windies at Sir Viv Richards Stadium, Antigua, Kohli has an opportunity to equalize this achievement. He has scored two centuries against Windies in Test cricket in which one of them is a doubleton.

If the Indian skipper achieves this feat, both he and Ponting will be the joint second behind Graeme Smith from South Africa, who slammed 25 centuries in 109 Test matches as South African captain, 17 of which came outside South Africa.

The record-breaker, Virat Kohli will likewise eye another record when the first Test gets in progress, which additionally denotes the start of India’s campaign in the World Test Championship. The Indian skipper is just one Test match win away from equalling MS Dhoni’s record of most wins as Indian Test captain.

The 30-year-old currently has 26 wins from 46 matches with a win percentage of 56.52% while his predecessor, MS Dhoni had 27 wins in 60 matches with a win percentage of 45%. Kohli took over as captain of Indian Test team when MS announced retirement from the longest format during the long tour of Australia in 2014.

As a captain, it will be tough for Kohli and Indian team management to select the perfect XI in the Test series against Windies.
