The coronavirus debacle has wreaked its havoc all across the world in the past few months. The positive cases have been increasing with each passing day and more than 4.7 lakh individuals across the globe have succumbed to death. Along with human existence, the pandemic has also put sporting scenario at a halt and many cricketers have also tested positive so far.

The world hasn’t witnessed any international cricket since March and to make things worse, a few cricketers have also contracted the virus. Shahid Afridi and Mashrafe Mortaza emerged as two prominent names to have tested positive in recent times. To add a few names to the list, three more Pakistan players were also infected with the novel virus.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Sunday, confirmed that the trio of Haider Ali, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan has tested positive for COVID-19. The players had shown no symptoms until they were tested in Rawalpindi before their departure to England for the much-awaited tour. The PCB, in the wake of it, advised them to immediately go in self-isolation.

“The players had shown no symptoms until they were tested in Rawalpindi on Sunday. The PCB medical panel is in contact with the three who have been advised to immediately go into self-isolation,” PCB said in a statement.

The news of three Pakistan internationals testing positive for coronavirus spread like wildfire on social media. The cricket fraternity was left shaken by the news and many well-known faces of the game wished the players a speedy recovery.

Cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja was also stunned by learning about it. He wished them a speedy recovery for their return to the sport. “Breaking: absolutely shocked to hear that Shadab Khan, Harris Rauf and Haider Ali have tested positive for COVID 19. All asymptotic. Wishing them a speedy recovery and return to cricket,” tweeted Raja.

The Men in Green are scheduled to lock horns with England in three Tests and as many T20Is during the course of their tour. The Pakistan players were due to fly out later this month to quarantine themselves ahead of the first test on July 30.
