Sachin Tendulkar is one of the biggest sporting stars in the country when after his retirement. So, it was quite obvious that there would be loads of wishes which the master will receive on his birthday. The former Indian batsman turned 47 on 24th April 2020.

Twitter flooded with wishes for the legendary batsman. However, the Mumbaikar has decided not to celebrate his 47th birthday as the mark of respect to the frontline workers during the COVID-19 crisis. But, still, he received wishes and tweets by many stars, one notably from Virat Kohli.

The Indian captain posted a tweet in which he wished the legendary batsman. He uploaded the post with a picture of him and Sachin during one of the IPL matches. The tweet by Kohli read, “Happy birthday to the man whose passion for the game of cricket has inspired many. Wishing you an amazing year ahead paaji.”

BCCI celebrates Sachin’s birthday by walking down the memory lane

Sachin also received wishes from the official Twitter handle of BCCI. The post contained a video Tendulkar’s 41st Test ton which he got back in 2008 against England in a Test match in Chennai. The board tweeted, “As the Master Blaster @sachin_rt turns 47, we relive one of his glorious knocks against England in 2008. He dedicated this ton – 41st in Test cricket, to the victims of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Here’s wishing the legend a very happy birthday.”

The innings in the video was one of Tendulkar’s finest knocks. He scored a century in a tough run-chase when Indian needed 387 runs to win on the final day against England. Sachin’s century helped India win the famous Test which was held just after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket in 2013. At that time, he was the leading run-getters in both ODIs and Tests. He still holds that record and is also the only one who has 100 centuries at the international level. The third on that list is Virat Kohli with 70 centuries. There are many such records which were set by the legendary Indian batsman and might not be ever broken.

Apart from this, many other famous cricketers wished the Master Blaster on his birthday. Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh and Ravi Shastri were few of the stars who wished him.
