India may have started their World Cup tour of England and Wales on a disappointing note but their popularity hasn’t dipped. Virat Kohli’s men had a batting debacle has they were shot out for 179 and lost the game against New Zealand at the Oval by 6 wickets. But as far as the style statement is concerned, the Indian players including their captain are second to none. The latest celebrity who has expressed her admiration for Kohli is Taapsee Pannu.

The 31-year-old ‘Pink’ actor was impressed with Kohli’s stylish gesture while posing for a photograph with the captains of the other nine teams taking part in the World Cup starting May 30 and the ICC trophy for which they will compete. The group photo taken indoors in London showed the captains – seated or standing in and around couches, and while most of the skippers were modest in their gesture, Kohli’s body language became the talk of the town.

The other nine captains are Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Faf du Plessis (South Africa), Eoin Morgan (England), Dimuth Karunaratne (Sri Lanka), Gulbadin Naib (Afghanistan), Mashrafe Mortaza (Bangladesh), Jason Holder (West Indies), Aaron Finch (Australia) and Sarfaraz Ahmed (Pakistan).

Actress feels, Virat is captain with swag

After the Cricket World Cup shared on their Twitter handle the picture of the captains, Taapsee wrote in a tweet: “This is such a cool picture ! Needless to say our Indian Man owns it totally! Captain with swag”.

Another actor Varun Dhawan also tweeted saying: “Yeahhh #virat”

Kohli owns scores of style products and is idolised by many as a style icon and there is no surprise that his gesture in the image will earn him more admirers. Now, the only task that India is left with is to match the off-field style statement with that on the field.

India will play their first match in the World Cup against South Africa in Southampton on June 5. On Tuesday, they will be playing Bangladesh in their second and final warm-up game.

During an interaction ahead of the tournament, Kohli particularly praised hosts England for their big-hitters and said even scores in the high 200s will be big in the tournament because of the pressure factor.
