England is playing against Australia at the moment at the iconic Lord’s in an all-important clash which can potentially turn the World Cup on its head. The hosts losing to Sri Lanka in Leeds has opened up the competition and the pressure is completely on England who will have to win at least two out of the three remaining matches to make it to the semis. Against Australia though they didn’t get off to a good start after opting to bowl first in overcast conditions.
David Warner and Aaron Finch got Australia to a superb start not for the first time in the tournament and the likes of Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer couldn’t draw the first blood. Even Mark Wood’s introduction into the attack didn’t work for England. This is when Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood’s wife Ebba Qureshi pointed out that the home side’s bowlers weren’t pitching it up enough to trouble the opposition.
Indirectly, she also indicated that her husband Azhar must be England’s bowling coach at the moment after which the bowlers might have pitched the ball up. “England not pitching it up! Whaaatttt! Must be the bowling coach! #SaidNoOne,” Ebba Qureshi wrote in her tweet.

England coming back strongly
However, despite not getting a wicket in the first 22 overs, England have made a strong comeback. The Australian batsmen have been guilty of throwing away the starts. Usman Khawaja, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis couldn’t kick on and make the most of the platform set by Warner and Finch. While the left-hander scored 53 runs, the Aussie skipper smashed a scintillating ton.
But from being 123/0, Australia lost their way and were left reeling at 228/5 botching up a brilliant start. Steve Smith and Alex Carey will have to bat well now for the team and propel them to a decent total on the board.
