Their only loss in the World Cup 2019 was against India. The wins were against Afghanistan (the team put up a decent fight), West Indies (could have been a close match) and Pakistan (the batting could not stand up against Australian bowling).

Stoinis has still not been cleared to play.

Possible XI:

David Warner, Aaron Finch (C), Steven Smith, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey (wk), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson

Sri Lanka

Considering the fact that they came into the World Cup with a very poor track record and in the absence of strong players, they have done well mostly due to luck. Most of the luck came from the points received from the washed out matches. They crashed out of the match against New Zealand, losing by 10 wickets. It was one of the most one-sided matches of the tournament. They defeated Afghanistan by 34 runs, with Malinga and Pradeep taking most of the wickets.

Malinga is set to return for this match and someone might have to hit the bench to make room.

Possible XI: Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Suranga Lakmal, Isuru Udana, Thisara Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Nuwan Pradeep, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dimuth Karunaratne (C), Kusal Perera (wk), Kusal Mendis

Top Picks

David Warner, A Finch: The two batsmen have one of the best partnerships in the world and can help Australia win their 6th World Cup.

Cummins, Starc and Coulter-Nile: Pat Cummins has bowled the most number of dot balls in the ongoing World Cup and the two bowlers that follow him are also from Australia — Mitchell Starc and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Kusal Perera: There is a lot of pressure on Perera to provide sufficient runs for the likes of Pradeep to defend.
