Team India will be embarking on their Australia tour in November where they are scheduled to play 3 T20Is, the same number of ODIs and four Tests. More than anything, their performance in the longest format will be analysed as they’ve lost in England in South Africa both. In the ongoing Test series, they missed a proper wicket-keeper batsman in the absence of Wridhhiman Saha and are likely to miss him on this tour as well.

Saha has been struggling with his shoulder since the IPL earlier this year and was ruled out of the historic Test match against Afghanistan as well. Later, it was revealed that he will need a surgery and it will take time for him to recover which ruled him out of the England series as well. However, the BCCI was hoping that he will be available for the Australia tour but the wait for his return might increase even more.

Saha himself confirms

Wridhhiman Saha, while speaking to Cricbuzz, revealed that it will take close to four months for him to recover completely and get back to the field. “As per the doctors, it varies from body to body as far as full recovery is concerned. Safe to say, it will take four months. Getting back on the field is not on my mind right now, my focus is to just do the things I am being told to on a daily basis,” he said.

Moreover, India’s wicketkeeper-batsman also went on to inform that he has started the rehab at the NCA and hasn’t been told about the exact time it will take for him to recover.

“I have just started the rehab two days back at the NCA, I haven’t been told how long I would need to be here. But yes, a stretch of three-four months can take a toll, so I will be given breaks and be with family, come back and resume the rehab, something on these lines,” the 33-year-old added.
