Ever since Yuvraj Singh has announced his retirement, the fraternity is busy wishing him on social media. The southpaw is also promptly thanking each one of them. Like many of them, even Sreesanth termed him the ‘best cricketer’ to have motivated a completely new era. In response, Yuvi also recalled the duo playing together for Punjab when the left-hander was the skipper. This is when the former India cricketer claimed Yuvraj to be the best captain he has ever played under.

Yuvraj Singh and Sreesanth played together for Punjab for several years before sharing the dressing room for India. They were also part of the Indian team which triumphed in the 2011 World Cup in which Yuvraj had won the Man of the Tournament award. Sreesanth also played two matches, the tournament opener and the final, of the quadrennial event. However, the fast bowler lost his place in the side after being accused of spot-fixing in the IPL 2013.

Meanwhile, when Yuvraj Singh funnily recalled controlling Sreesanth’s emotions while playing for Punjab, the latter got emotional.

Proud of you brother

Sreesanth also recalled winning his first ever purple cap in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also pointed out how Yuvraj Singh is the man for big tournaments. “Ha ha ha, I true that. but Yuvi pa ur the best captain I’ve ever played under..how can I forget my purple cap (1st ipl) ur the only cricketer who have won the man of the series in U-15,u-19, 20/20 and 50 over World Cup. always proud to say ur my brother love and respect always,” Sreesanth’s reply read.

As far as Sreesanth is concerned, he last featured for India back in 2011. Interestingly, he didn’t play an ODI after the World Cup final against Sri Lanka. For Yuvraj, the ODI series in Windies after the 2017 Champions Trophy proved to be his last and was never considered again.
