Tabraiz Shamsi produced an excellent performance with the ball in hand in the 2nd ODI between Sri Lanka and South Africa. The left-arm wrist-spinner scalped a sensational five-wicket haul and helped his side wallop the opposition by 67 runs.

But then, after the match, Shamsi entered into a war of words with a fan. A fan commented that most of the wickets that Shamsi had scalped were that of lower-order batsmen.

And to that, Shamsi tore into the fan. Stating that he will fire all the coaches so that the fan can come and teach him, the South African cricketer asked the fan to bowl with a wet ball. Shamsi further lashed out, stating that the fan knows nothing about reading a match situation and reading batsmen.

South Africa thrash Sri Lanka in the second ODI

The South African side produced a complete all-round performance to pulverize the Sri Lankan side in the second ODI. Batting first, the Proteas posted a total of 283/6 runs on the board, with Janneman Malan scoring a classy century. Reeza Hendricks chipped in with a handy 51 as well.

The Sri Lankan batting lineup came a cropper, as apart from Charith Asalanka, who scored a fighting 77, none of the other Sri Lankan willow wielders could even cross the 40-run mark. Also, as many as 6 Sri Lankan batsmen scored in single digits.

Tabraiz Shamsi scalped a five-wicket haul and gave away 49 runs in his 7.4 overs for South Africa. Apart from Shamsi, Kagiso Rabada produced a good performance as well, scalping 2 wickets in the 6 overs that he bowled, giving away 16 runs.

With this victory, South Africa has leveled the three-match ODI series 1-1. Sri Lanka had won the first rubber, beating the Proteas by 14 runs. The third and final ODI of the series will be played on 7th September 2021 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
