India is currently playing New Zealand in the first of the three ODI series. The first ODI is being played at the Wankhede in Mumbai and Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. The track looked great for batting but the Indian start was very poor.

The men in blue struggled to get off to a great start as both the openers were back in the hut before the 6th over. Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik put up a 70 odd run partnership together to steady the ship but Karthik has also departed as of now. However, the showstopper today was no Indian batter, it was a young Mumbai lad who was patrolling the boundary lines as a ball boy.

One for the future

A young U14 Mumbai cricketer was quietly going about his work as a ball boy just when Virat Kohli hurled the ball up in his direction. It was a half chance for Munro standing at fine leg but it went over him and this young lad caught it with one hand. He dived to his right and the ball just stuck in his hand which caught the attention of everyone in the crowd.

Even the commentators went berserk on TV after watching this insane effort from the young man. Munro, however, did not pay attention as his opportunity was taken by a young ball boy from Mumbai. It was great to see the young lad get some praise for his effort and this might just inspire him to go all the way and play for India someday.

Here is the actual clip

India currently is struggling, Virat and MS are currently stitching a partnership together. Given the history at Wankhede, India need to post a good total in order to have any chance against the fierce Kiwi batting lineup.
